Background:
The Government of India has set an ambitious target to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil electricity generation capacity by 2030, a goal that requires substantial investments, particularly from the private sector. International cooperation plays a crucial role in fostering these investments and accelerating the energy transition. To enhance and deepen the dialogue on sustainable energy development, the German Chancellor and the Indian Prime Minister established the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) in April 2006. The IGEF serves as a high-level platform for strategic cooperation between the two countries’ governments, institutions, and private sectors. It promotes collaboration in energy security, energy efficiency, renewable energy, investment in energy projects, and joint research and development, while addressing the environmental challenges of sustainable development German pavilions at trade fairs across India provide valuable opportunities for the private sector to showcase cooperation prospects and build enduring partnerships. Public-private dialogue events, including Business-to-Government (B2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) roundtables held alongside conferences, facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen networks among German and Indian companies as well as public stakeholders. Furthermore, project initiation trips and site visits in both countries help develop joint project ideas and deepen bilateral collaboration.
Objectives: Conducting various activities for Indo-German-Business Development for renewable energies in cooperation with the Private Sector.
Tasks of the assignment: 1. Organisation of up to 3 German Pavilions at Wind, Solar or Storage related renewable energy trade fairs in India. 2. Organisation of up to 6 B2G or B2B roundtables (Business outreach event), dates as agreed upon with GIZ – can also happen without trade fair 3. Organisation of up to 4 webinars 4. Support with the organisation of up to 2 business delegations from India to Germany.
